Welcome to the Corson Lab
The Laboratory of Tim Corson is based at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto and is part of the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science, Temerty Faculty of Medicine; the Collaborative Program in Neuroscience; and the Precision Medicine Initiative (PRiME).
Our mission is to provide a supportive environment in which diverse staff and learners work toward these goals:
-
To discover and advance new therapeutics for ocular diseases
-
To elucidate signaling mechanisms relevant to normal biological function and diseases of the eye
-
To provide cutting-edge, rigorous, compassionate, and inclusive training for diverse graduate and health professional students and postdoctoral scientists
Our Research Focus
We are interested in drug discovery for eye diseases, especially those characterized by abnormal blood vessel growth. We explore disease mechanisms and develop new molecules with potential to translate into therapies. Our lab is supported by grants from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, the US National Institutes of Health and the Retina Research Foundation.
